CNN has declared Donald Trump the winner of the crucial swing state of Georgia with its 16 electoral votes. Trump continues his march to the White House with 246 votes. His opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, has 210.
The Republican Party has regained the majority in the Senate, according to the Associated Press, after securing seats in Ohio and West Virginia and successfully defending their candidates in Texas and Nebraska.
This marks the first time in four years that Republicans will control the upper chamber of Congress. If Donald Trump wins the presidency, they will be positioned to confirm his Supreme Court justices, federal judges, and cabinet appointees. Conversely, if Kamala Harris wins, they could delay or outright block her nominees.

The New York Times’ estimates suggest that the race leans toward Donald Trump. NBC News exit polls indicate Trump’s favourability among white voters has dropped to 49%, while it has slightly increased among Black and Latino voters. In Milwaukee, 30,000 absentee ballots will be re-run through tabulating machines due to improperly closed doors.
