In this video, we explore the mysterious “Rogue Elements” that seem to challenge the Big Bang model’s predictions about the universe’s primordial mix. While Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN) successfully predicts certain elemental ratios like hydrogen and helium, puzzling anomalies with lithium and deuterium have left scientists questioning our understanding of cosmic origins. Join us as we delve into the three key issues facing BBN—helium discrepancies, the lithium problem, and deuterium variations—and consider why alternative cosmologies, such as plasma cosmology, offer competing perspectives.

From primordial nucleosynthesis to stellar nucleosynthesis, this video unpacks the unexpected “outliers” that defy the Big Bang’s elemental blueprint. We also address the broader implications for cosmology: can any theory truly account for the observed abundance of elements in the universe? Or will these rogue elements force us to rethink what we thought we knew about the universe’s origins?

22 pensiero su “Defying the Big Bang: The Elements That Don’t Fit #finsubito agevolazioni”
  1. Cosmology is disregarding the fission reaction. Wjat reaction you people think is active in earths core, and all the other similar objects(or smaller than sun objects, that wont fuse)? It is called fission. Elements break down to more stable ones. Ofcourse the hydrogen is most stable, and thus its half time os the longest of them all (permanent, because it is the smallest form of atom model particles) you dont need anything but simple logic to get this

  2. Even Canada does not spend the treaty agreed 2 percent of GDP on defense. If they refuse to abide by the treaty they signed the US should at least take a look at our options.

  3. The lightest elements are also the most found. Yes, when you have all the elements together the lightest will rise to the top. That makes element detection a top down view. It's like these other abundances are buried or something.

  4. The simple fact that we have a consecutive periodic table with no gaps should have physicists scratching their heads: If Sol is only in the 3rd generation of stars, what are the odds we would have every element from past supernovas? How many could there have been?

  5. Aren't the heavier elements formed most quickly in the denser regions of the universe? As the denser regions of the universe collapse into neutron stars and black holes more quickly, the spectra of their heavier elements disappear from standard spectral detection. The data seems to indicate that this leaves behind a visible portion of the universe with roughly the same ratio of elements as the early universe. We may see only that small fraction of the heavier elements that formed in supernova. Heavier elements formed in other stars may no longer be visible, but they formed much more rapidly than the ratio of still visible elements would suggest.

  6. Look into the cosmic microwave background. The anisotropic map is just data processing and likely not real. Big bang is just an idea, not even close to fact

  7. Plasma Cosmology seems to reveal a much younger universe, at odds with the "accepted" Big Bang Nucleosynthesis in an ancient universe.

  8. I understand that stars comprise only 5% of the universe's normal matter. If this is true, stars could not have processed much deuterium.

  9. The unexpected abundance of heavier elements as well as the imminent prospect of stars and galaxies older than the universe itself can be solved by postulating that the universe is older than current estimates. The question to be answered now is: how much older? lt may turn out that a relatively small increase in the accepted age of the universe is enough to solve these problems.

  10. What is wrong with the word 'advance'? What is gained by adding the suffix'ment' to it? It just takes longer to type and its only virtue is that it satisfies the traditional US desire to mangle the English language. Like parrots, those who see or hear it on the internet feel an urge to imitate it. What is the difference between an advance and an advancement?

  11. You explanation of why some cosmologists still cling to the Big Bang theory reminds me of the argument that String Theorists use to continue to fund them. Human mortality (I'm 78) will be a boom to Physics, in general.
