27. As a native Californian, and a highly educated retired citizen, I am compelled to leave to a less restrictive and less taxed state. Middle class workers are severely squeezed by the millennialist dogma of our far left politicians. Their pie in the sky, Don Quijote goals have created an unlivable condition in a state blessed by a world class climate. Crime, homelessness, decaying infrastructure, massive illegal immigration (with attendant social welfare costs), excruciating taxes on consumption, energy, transportation, and housing, as well as a failure to maintain public lands and build reservoirs to store water for agriculture, result in sky high insurance rates, and a failing agricultural sector, make life miserable. Everyone I know wants out. The left have changed voting laws creating a one party state, run by democrats. It is horrible here.
